Greta Sedl, Senior Solicitor at Empire Legal

Greta Sedl

Senior Solicitor · Admitted 2020 · Brisbane

Greta will happily tell you she fell into property law by accident, and Empire is very glad she did. A commercial property specialist, she’s the lawyer who takes something stressful and complicated and helps everyday people and businesses navigate it, always happy to pick up the phone and talk it through.

Areas of practice

  • Commercial and retail leasing
  • Developments and off-the-plan contracts
  • Due diligence, acquisitions and disposals
  • Residential and commercial conveyancing
  • Manufactured homes and retirement villages
  • Licences and related commercial property matters

Her path to law

Greta started at Empire in December 2019 as a settlement clerk and worked her way up to assistant and then file handler, before leaving briefly to deepen her property law experience and returning as a solicitor. Before law she had worked in events, market research, politics and her family business (and rolled more than a few burritos) while studying at QUT, where the media side of her degree first held her interest. Property, and Empire, won out. As she puts it, Empire made her a lawyer she’s proud to be: commercial, client focused, and always up for talking it out.

  • Admitted as a solicitor in Queensland (2020)
  • Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Media and Communication, Queensland University of Technology

  • Works with our QUT legal placement students

A bit about Greta

Away from the office Greta plays social dodgeball, never says no to mid-week trivia, and can be found at pilates, buried in a good book, at a live gig, or camping somewhere without phone reception. Loves: potato gems, a cold beer, arts and crafts, and rocks that make you go “wow”. Not a fan of: ground pepper, slow walkers, and cardboard straws.
