George Sourris
George co-founded Empire Legal and leads its legal practice. He came to property law a little differently – a dual Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Information Technology graduate who spent five years at Apple before being admitted as a solicitor and going all-in on Queensland property. That mix shows up in how Empire runs: sharp on the law, obsessive about the client experience, and allergic to jargon.
Under George’s lead, Empire has grown from a single Brisbane CBD office to three – CBD, the Bayside and the Gold Coast – with 3,052 five-star Google reviews along the way. He was named Queensland Solicitor of the Year (Small Firm) at the 2026 QLS Excellence in Law Awards, after a top-five finish in the same category in 2024, and he’s in his third year on the QLD PEXA Member Advisory Council, helping shape the future of digital property settlement across the state.
George also hosts Raising the Bar, Empire’s property podcast, and is a vocal advocate for lifting the standard of conveyancing in Queensland – no kickbacks, never acting for both sides, and quality over the race-to-the-bottom cheap-fee model. Off the clock he gives his time to the Burleigh in Pink and Kytherian Brotherhood of Queensland boards, and he’s a sucker for the ocean, his Greek heritage and a strong coffee.
